We are Sailing

I hope you all had a special and merry Christmas and that the awful weather did not cause you and your loved ones any distress. I really  think this year has just flow by, they say its a sign of old age when you say that so i must really be getting old . So today is the last challenge of the year with CD Sunday and i hope you will have the time to join in with us this week,  it's team mate Sue T who has chosen the theme and it's We are Sailing, quite apt really as we sail into the 2014 .
For my card i have kept it simple , the backing paper is from Paddington collection Volume 1 and the toppers are from Kanban that i had in my stash, i have torn the paper to hopefully give a feel of waves and really i did not need to do any more so as i say this is quick and easy card to end the year.
That just leaves me to wish you all a very happy New Year

On the Beach

Not a good week for me, got a letter telling me i had to pay £70 to Parking eye for being in a Aldi car park for more than the allotted time, fuming now, then i went to get my new glasses and i couldn't see through them at all, so another wait and another trip to collect them and to top it off while doing some gardening i got stung by a bee, a small wild bee who has left my wrist swollen ,red and very sore, i think i have a hive in the pampas grass. So i hope things will now settle down,.

OK on to this weeks Challenge at CD Sunday and it's On The Beach and has been chosen for you by Caz. We still have Linby with us who has brought you some amazing cards this month, so do pop over and visit her blog at Crafty Linby.
For my card i have used Sharon Duncan's Embossibilities Elegance for the back paper and the image is one i found on the net, the sentiment is computer generated and cut out with a sizzix die, i have used a spellbinder die for the corners and added flat back pearls, so hopefully they look like shells, i hope you like it and can join in with us this week.

I'm sure you will all have your own ideas on this and i look forward to seeing just what you come up with.
we didn't have as many entries as usual for last weeks theme but I'm thinking that's because of the children being on holiday and the weather so lovely, so I'm sure many of you have been spending time in your gardens.
For my card i have used House mouse and several items from my serif kits, i have also used a punch and stamp for the sentiment.
The whole card was put together in craft artist and printed out and put onto white card and then i just added the pink border with peel off's, I have not used them much lately but i do intend to try and use as much from my stash as i can before i buy any more, and that's not an easy thing to do as i keep seeing things i need.
Please look in at the blog to see if your in the top three for last weeks challenge, and as always what ever you use from your CD's please give it a credit in your write up.

This our guest designers last week with us and I would like to thank Gloria (misty's mum) for the brilliant job and cards she has created for us this month, Thank you Gloria and I'm sure we will be asking you back at a later date.
This week it is choice and the challenge is " Aged to Perfection ". Now I have gone down the obvious road but there is a lot of scope for this challenge as you can see from the design teams creations, it could be wine , a majestic tree etc. I do look forward to seeing just what you can include for the theme.
For my card, and this has been made for my friend who has just hit 60, I have made an easel card and the CD's I have used are My Craft Studio's Magical Metallics and M.C.S  A very important date. So the backing paper is from two CD's but the image is one i found on the net and thought it suited my friend who has a good sense of  humour. I have added some green pearls a small bow and the tea cups are also from " A very important Date " and we have shared many a cup of that together.

For my card i have used a My craft studio CD called Floriography Cd 2. I do tend to use this CD a lot for the lovely papers that are so easy to mix and match with so many things.

As you know from last week Jenny (Starcyl's daily doings) is taking some time off from the design team for a well earned rest and we hope she gets plenty of that and will be back with soon. Carol has steped up to the bar and will be taking up the post, so thank you Carol.
This week it is Through the window, chosen and sponsored by Carol who has a special birthday this month and the winner of this challenge will get a CD of their choice to value of £15:99 , so take a look at what the team have come with and get your entries in.
For my card i have used a Crafter's companion cd Adorables, so many lovely images on this.
Please remember to use some something from a CD and say what you have used,

Bundle of joy

What a week of weather we have had, our village was cut off by the snow on friday, but we have such good neighbours, all the local farmers have been out on tractors with ploughs to keep us up and running, poor Ray returning home was greeted by police at the top of the lane to be told no way through, he thought he was going to have to walk a mile and half to get home. Luckily some the ploughs had come through the back lanes so he was able to drive home.
Back to the matter in hand, last week we had wonderful wings and your entries where lovely, so thank you all, i look forward to seeing who will get the top spot, so do check on wednesday, it could be you.
This week it is my turn to pick a theme for you and i have chosen Bundle of Joy, i know the obvious choice would be baby, but it could be a kitten or puppy.
We still have the lovely Marina with us and once again she has given us a lovely card as have all our ladies.
for my card i used Polka doodles, candy doodles collection Cd. I have used 6x6 white card , printed out the backing paper and topper and the word baby, the topper is mounted onto white card edged with pink, added a polka dot ribbon and buttons.
i hope you can all join in with again this week and i look forward to seeing your work.

CD Sunday challenge ..Wonderful wings

What a week for changing weather this has been, talk about blowing hot and cold.
Last week Carol ask you for Land of the pharaohs and you came up with creative and imaginative cards so she will have her work cut out to select one winner from the lovely entries.
This week it is Jenny's turn to pick and she has chosen Wonderful Wings and after looking at the Teams cards i'm sure you will have plenty of ideas running through your head.
For my card i have used a Peerless Designes CD called Woodland Fantasy, i love this cd so full of original fantasy themed artwork, just fabulous. I have used a 6x6 scalloped edge card, the backing paper is from the Cd, the image is mounted to blue card and the sentiment was made using the same card. Only the sentiment is raised so should prove no problem with posting.
I hope you all enjoy this weeks challenge, i certainly did, trying to decide what type of wings i wanted to use.
As always please use something from a CD and give the CD you used a credit , i look forward to visiting you all and seeing what you come with.

This week it's Carols choice, and she has chosen Land of the Pharaohs, so get your thinking caps on and root through your CD's and show us what you came up. We have Marina with us again this week, I'm sure you where all pleased with her debut card with us, so beautiful and you will not be disappointed with her creation for this week.
