Make and Recycle

Do you have any old washing tablet boxes , if you do why not recycle and make use of it. It takes less than two 12x12 sheets of paper, in fact the next one i do will be in old news paper or magazine to keep my word stamps.
This box is just the right size to hold 14 stamp pads, i have not added anything to the top, that way they are stackable too. Time to make , maybe one hour. I have made these for my daughter who keeps all the small odds and ends in, it would also make a nice little sewing box, may do that next............

Revamp of the box

I have had this card index box for many years and have decided to give it a revamp.

I started with the lid and applied this paper
I have lots of small images and i sorted a few i thought would look good with paper.

I have used collall glue and have no problems at all , no warping I'm pleased to say.
Now that i have glued on my images i decided to use a adhesive clear film on the box as it's in regular use.
I was going to put paper flower on the lid but as i use it a lot and i tend to put other thing on top of it it's better left flat.

i have entered this into the following challenge

Recycling oxo box

i have recycled a small oxo  box today as it's raining yet again and i can't  get into the garden. My poor garden is starting to look like a jungle but it gives me more time to craft so that must be the sunny side. These little box's would look lovely in the right paper for hanging on the Christmas tree .

So open up your box and glue on the paper of choice and allow to dry.
Then cut around the excess paper, the glued on box is your template.
now all you need to do is stick the sides together, you can glue and peg or in this case i have used the red backed tape so it will not come apart.
I had some small images left over from a card i made so i have used them on all four sides and two smaller ones on the top and base and tied a ribbon around. You may not get a lot inside but most diamonds will fit, lol.
This is small box of 12 oxo and you get 24 and 36, so you could a little set.
I hope you like it

Paper heart

There is so much cardboard that i send to be recycled that i have now been trying to make use of. This was the front of a cereal packet that i cut into a heart shape. I have covered with paper and did a bit of stamping and then sprites some shimmer magic  over using three different colours. I have made some paper flowers and also used some pre made ones added a small wooden heart and a few gems ( not that have shown on pic ) job done. I will be give it to my daughter as she a collection of hearts. if anyone has any good ideas for using old packets be sure to let me know. I have also been using up the pringles tubs, they make good holders for so  many things, i have a set of chess pieces in one, paint brushes in another and small knitting needles in one.
thanks for stopping by

Hello everyone i have had a bit of fun covering box's that would normally be thrown away. The top one is  washing powder or i should say the tablet kind box. This is just right for storing your ink pads, it's the right size to hold 12 to 14 with ease. My daughter has taken this one for all the little odds and ends she has. The second box is a shoe box in a very pretty pink, but as it has writing on most sides i cover this with a black and white paper and used promarkers for a little colour. As most of my craft item's are in box's these will fit in very nicely. I really wanted to add flowers and ribbons and things to the tops but then they would not be good for stacking, so i will have to make a few just for the bedroom to hold some costume jewelry.
