Pearls and swirls

At CD Sunday this week it's  Beryl's choice and she gives you pearls and swirls, what more could you ask for on a Sunday morning.
For my card i have used the CD  "Tinkering with steampunk"  from my craft studio and made it in craft artist.  The pearls are a brush i made in craft artist some time ago and they always come in very handy and I also love to make brush's , i have used the emboss tool for the butterfly's and added just a simple word art .  It printed out beautifully and i then added it to white card.
You are in for a treat with all the fabulous and varied  cards the DT girls have made for your inspiration this week, so i hope you can all join in and if you can visit each others blog and leave a comment, it does mean a lot.
happy crafting, sue x

Revamp of the box

I have had this card index box for many years and have decided to give it a revamp.

I started with the lid and applied this paper
I have lots of small images and i sorted a few i thought would look good with paper.

I have used collall glue and have no problems at all , no warping I'm pleased to say.
Now that i have glued on my images i decided to use a adhesive clear film on the box as it's in regular use.
I was going to put paper flower on the lid but as i use it a lot and i tend to put other thing on top of it it's better left flat.

i have entered this into the following challenge

Birds of a feather

Today i have done " the beginners and all 6 blends" challenge on Daisytrail. This challenge has been put together by Hilary aka  "Sunset" who has a wealth of knowledge on all things craft artist.  So this is some altered art done in craft artist, in the top left hand corner is the original picture, it is a Moorecroft card and as you can see quite a difference between the two, in the corner bottom right is a picture with out anything being done to it, so using your blend mode and layers you can achieve quite a different look, the word art is also part of the challenge to do it using the freeform brush. I have enjoyed doing these challenges as it's been a while since i did any pages on daisytrail.

In the land of make believe

This is the page i made in craft artist. It is for the  " Focus on threshold"  challenge.  The challenges are usually put together by the moderators and can be a very a good way of learning just what you can do with craft artist. At the moment they have 3 challenges that you can treat as tutorials , " Effects, Threshold and blends ". All three very useful things to learn. The second picture is the original before threshold was applied.

Ode to Van Gogh Friday fantasy @ daisytrail

The housework is screaming at me so I'll just have to use earplugs for a while.
Daisy trails Friday fantasy this week  is " Ode to Van Gogh".,   A single chair in a lonely room,   black crows against a field of wheat,   A bandaged ear a sign of doom,  A vase of iris in last bloom,  Madness rages, can paint repeat,   A single chair in a lonely room.
So the idea is to create a page based on that ode.
I have used 2 kits for this "poet keepsake" i love this kit, and "inner fire" again another fabulous kit. I have used two images from Google, one i took into cutout studio and the other has added effects,  the word art is also from the "inner fire" kit.
Right now that's done i will go and talk to the hoover who seems to be screaming the loudest.

Down the rabbit hole....OOB

I have been back to daisy trail and just could not resist doing a page.  It's been a while since i did any pages and have not used CAP as much as i have been doing cards. This image i found on the net and is perfect for one of there challenges "fun with effects, 3". The challenge is to create an OOB " out of bounds", you take your photo into the cutout studio and cut away every thing you don't want to use then place it back into your work space and find another suitable image or frame to make it look like it's coming out. You have to place your original photo into a frame and have that also on the page for the comparison to be made . I had fun doing this one and used a photo of my grandson Jake. I will print this off and will be put into one his albums.

Sitting fairy

Hello and welcome to my card for today, this card has been made with three challenges in mind so i hope i have covered all the requirements for each of them.

I have used three papers for the card from "Crafty individuals" background papers book 1 and background papers book4 (trees),  beautiful papers in these books. the stamp is from Sugar Nellie and coloured with promarkers and the ribbons where also coloured using promarkers. I have used the sketch to enter this into the Carismacardz challenge , the ribbons and buttons for the "crafting when you can" and  promarkers for the "I love promarkers" challenge. Sorry the pic is a little dull as the papers look quite dark in this.
 I hope you like it

Recycling oxo box

i have recycled a small oxo  box today as it's raining yet again and i can't  get into the garden. My poor garden is starting to look like a jungle but it gives me more time to craft so that must be the sunny side. These little box's would look lovely in the right paper for hanging on the Christmas tree .

So open up your box and glue on the paper of choice and allow to dry.
Then cut around the excess paper, the glued on box is your template.
now all you need to do is stick the sides together, you can glue and peg or in this case i have used the red backed tape so it will not come apart.
I had some small images left over from a card i made so i have used them on all four sides and two smaller ones on the top and base and tied a ribbon around. You may not get a lot inside but most diamonds will fit, lol.
This is small box of 12 oxo and you get 24 and 36, so you could a little set.
I hope you like it

summer

As it's such a miserable day i thought I'd do a card to cheer myself up. So i have stamped the image and coloured in promarkers, used a cat's eyes ink pad to edge the card, and circle and made a paper flower. i don't remember where the paper is from only that it from one of my card cd's.

i would like to enter this into the following

So the theme this week is "seaside treasures" and i hope you all join in. The card i have made is using  "Joanna Sheen -Faye Whittaker collection cd". I have used glossy accents on the buckets and spades and also on the girls shoes and boat and added a ribbon to her dress.

Paper heart

There is so much cardboard that i send to be recycled that i have now been trying to make use of. This was the front of a cereal packet that i cut into a heart shape. I have covered with paper and did a bit of stamping and then sprites some shimmer magic  over using three different colours. I have made some paper flowers and also used some pre made ones added a small wooden heart and a few gems ( not that have shown on pic ) job done. I will be give it to my daughter as she a collection of hearts. if anyone has any good ideas for using old packets be sure to let me know. I have also been using up the pringles tubs, they make good holders for so  many things, i have a set of chess pieces in one, paint brushes in another and small knitting needles in one.
thanks for stopping by

CD Sunday sketch

Good morning everyone.
Today at CD Sunday they have something a bit different for us, a sketch and i loved doing this along with a cd and i hope you all enjoy doing one as well. I have made my card on pearly grey card and it's a bit of an odd size 7x8. The cd i used this week is one of Debbi Moore designs, "Shabby chic-Haberdashery", the papers and topper is from the cd in fact the only things that are not are the buttons and black bow.

My second card is the start of my Christmas collection just so i have some in hand as i usually leave everything to the last minute. This card is 6x6 and has been created in craft artist, and i love to use this program. Mostly this is from a kit called "Sweet Xmas" and i liked it as it's fresh and young looking and i don't want to be doing snow just yet as I'm still waiting for summer.

I hope you like this weeks great challenge and i look forward to seeing what you come up with.
Sadly this will be my last post as a guest designer and i would like to thank everyone at CD Sunday, the DT's and everyone who takes the time to join in with the challenges.  I have enjoyed doing every challenge and loved taking a look at what everyone has created.

Delicious damask

hi everyone
today at CD Sunday the theme is Delicious Damask so with that in mind i have made a card and also a pen/brush holder. The cd i used for this is "Glenda Waterworth's ARTYLICIOUS, Damask Delights" . I have used the damask delights for the background paper and the rest is made from a craft artist cd called Butterfly, there are 5 in the set and the one i used is GARDEN. For the pen/brush holder i have used the same paper but with a different colour way  and cut out a butterfly and paper flowers and added them. I have also used ribbon and string and some candi. I hope you like what i have created for you this week.
See you next time x

Beautiful Ballerinas

Good morning all,
i can say this as it is good today, the sun is out and the sky is blue and after this week of bad weather today looks lovely.
I have made a side stepper card this week and the CD i used was crfaters companion "Adorables" from Jayne Nestorenko. Although this is mainly a Christmas themed CD i have used the paper from it as it is such a good match for the image. The image is from the net and i just loved it. The sentiment was part of a pre done sheet of mixed sentiments and again the colour was right, the flowers are part of my stash, they are parchment with silver foil edging, so all in all i am pleased with the end result and i hope you like it too.

out with the boys

As the weather has not been good this weekend i have been able to do more crafting and revisit some blogs sites that i have missed of late. I have not done as much in scrapbook's as i would like and i now have two more Grandchildren so there is plenty to keep me going for a long time. This page is for my daughter who lost dog Blue and is heartbroken over him, but just after that she gave birth to another baby boy who has brought the sunshine back.

Gorgeous Green CD Sunday

http://cdsundaychallenge.blogspot.co.uk/This week at CD Sunday it's all about gorgeous green, well the first thing that popped in my head was the countryside but as last weeks challenge was country based i had to think again. Well this is what i came up with and i hope you think it fits the theme for this week. I have used the Joanna Sheen CD Ivory cats and i just love it, the images are all so beautiful and so is the backing papers. This is a tent fold card and after printing off the the image and backing paper i have used promarkers to color the ribbon and i have added a couple of gems. I do hope you like it.

Hi today i have made a tag for the Tuesday colour challenge over at "The outlazs challenge blog". The three colours we have to use are deep plum, queenly lilac and moss green and the twist was that it had to be a tag and this is what i came up with.
I hope you like it.

Today i have made a quick card for a boy using promarkers to colour the digi image. I have made this for the copic/promarkers challenge over at The Outlawz challenges, great site if your looking to do a challenge a day all on one blog. I have tried to give it a beach feel with only using papers.

old Macdonald had a farm

Well my time is up as a Guest designer for CD Sunday, but what a blast I've had. It has been so enjoyable and i look forward to seeing just who will fill fit the bill as our new member of the design team. I love to do the challenges and usually get some ideas from the D/T's examples so it's a whole new ball game to come up with something for others to get a clue from. So thank you CD Sunday for giving me this experience.
My card this week is for the old MacDonald had a farm at CD Sunday. The CD i used is Woodland folk and friends, i have also used a Sarah Kaye stamp and coloured it with promarkers and cut round her so i could place her on the log.
I hope you like it.

Hello everyone i have had a bit of fun covering box's that would normally be thrown away. The top one is  washing powder or i should say the tablet kind box. This is just right for storing your ink pads, it's the right size to hold 12 to 14 with ease. My daughter has taken this one for all the little odds and ends she has. The second box is a shoe box in a very pretty pink, but as it has writing on most sides i cover this with a black and white paper and used promarkers for a little colour. As most of my craft item's are in box's these will fit in very nicely. I really wanted to add flowers and ribbons and things to the tops but then they would not be good for stacking, so i will have to make a few just for the bedroom to hold some costume jewelry.

Easy elegance

Just for you

The theme this week at CD Sunday is "Easy Elegance" so i have created the above card and i hope you think it fits the bill.
I have used a white 6x6 scalloped edge card and used cats eyes ink to colour the edges in pink. The toppers are taken from a Joanna Sheen CD called "in other words" a very good Cd to have in your stash..
The leafs have also been coloured with the pink ink pad and i have finished off with a simple tag and stamped it just for you.
Easy yes, as for elegant i will that up to you to decide but i hope you like it and join us again this week.

small wonders: Reflections

small wonders: Reflections

Reflections

I enjoyed doing this card for CD Sunday as i love fairies and fantasy. This is 7x8 card, it's blueish/grey but looks quite grey in the photo. The CD i used is My craft studio "Walk in wonderland" a lovely cd. I used craft artist to duplicate the picture and flip it and reduce the intensity of colour giving a more reflection tone. The frame and flowers where cut on a silhouette and flowers colours with promarkers "blue pearl". The sentiment is a stamp on white card and mirror board, then just a couple of embellishments in the flowers and corner of frame.

I hope you like it and come on over to join in at cdsunday this week.
I would also like to say i loved all the cards entered last week, a really great variety.

Sweet temptation

The girl digi stamp is the freebie for the challenge and the cake stamps are by papermania and i won them in a challenge at cd sunday challenge blog spot

rose boot

I have just joined the outlaw challenge site and it looks really good, that's if i can find my way around it. Lots of challenges and lots of brilliant ideas and inspiration. The rose boot stamp is  the digi in use at the moment so i have made a very simple and quick card using some lovely kanban card stock and toppers, now i have to find my way back and get it where it needs to be.

Trees

This week is exciting for me as i have been asked to be the Guest Designer over at CDsunday challenge blog. I have to say i was going to decline the offer at first feeling my cards where not good enough. Well here i am giving you three cards as my take on the trees and shrubs theme and looking forward to the next couple of weeks seeing what you and i come up with.
sue-b x

May is a busy month for birthdays so i have made a start with the CD Sunday Tree theme and made three.
My first card is an A4 tent fold. The CD used is from Polka doodles called "NOT for girls definitely for men". The only thing not on the CD is the mirror card, this a good CD for men, lots on for the young or mature " better not say old". This has been used quite a lot for men in my life. The images are very easy to cut out, not too many fiddly bits.

My second card is a 6x6 made from a Peerless Designs CD called "Woodland fantasy". This one i took into Craft artist to build up and layer and also add some dropped shadow. A great program to work with as you can drag and drop, so all my Cd's can be used in this way. I added glossy accents to the toad stools but it has not shown very well in the photo.

My last card is DL and very quick and easy one to make. This also was made in craft artist, i have layered three plain papers from the "not for girls " Cd and used a tree from a scrap kit. I have duplicated the tree three times and resized them then added the word art. It was then printed off and added to cream card.
I hope you like them.
